imjohnlocked:

it starts with little things. it will erase the smallest things without noticing.

and when it’s too late, you find yourself forgetting your name.

i don’t want to forget it all.

i don’t want to forget you

please

He drinks the light green liquid and his eyes start to roll in his head. He’s shooting the cabbie and he’s also looking at himself shooting the cabbie, not a good memory, surely something he could part with. It’s all a rush after that, like being on a swing that arches up and for that one moment, your heart stops beating. He’s about to fall down but he isn’t, he’s spinning towards something else. He’s watching Sarah in front of the arrow, Sherlock’s screaming something at him and the bullets fly in the air. John loses consciousness and it changes again. He’s at the pool and his legs have given up. Sherlock nods at him, he’s going to blow up the vest. Moriarty smiles and his dead eyes look challenging, almost welcoming. A huge flash and he’s in the Baskerville lab. The hound is chasing him, the hound from his own head, it’s running after him and all he can think of is sherlock and everything’s sherlock for a second and then his vision turns red. Sherlock’s jumping. John’s sobbing and he’s gone. They take him away and he can see nothing for a second, maybe it’s over, he wishes for it to be. He’s panting like he’s run a thousand miles and he can feel the sour tang of the green fluid in his throat when there’s the soft yellow glow from 221B beckoning him. He’s laughing with sherlock and it’s his first laugh in ages. Afghanistan is forgotten, even if for a second.
“Not this one!” He screams. “Dont take this one, let me keep this” it blips away, “the name is sherlock holmes and-” NO! “sherlock holmes…” he can see the name flying away from him. The face wisps in front of his eyes and he’s screaming to hold on to it. He loses it and forgets that he cares so much, that he cared so much. He wakes up and there is a sour tang in his mouth. He’s in his own apartment and he feels a movement near the door. Old instincts kick in and he tries to move but his whole body hurts.
A soft voice asks him to stay where he is. “I’m Jim? From IT? Uhm, I’m a friend of Molly she asked me to check on you.” He nods painfully and he can swear the guy smiles. The name rings a faint bell but his head hurts too much to try and remember. He lets it fall back on the pillow as the man leaves and John is left with the nagging feeling that he’s forgotten something very important. He drifts off…

Photographer Dina Goldstein’s series “Fallen Princesses“ has actually been around since 2009 but I had never posted the photographs as a complete set before. The project looks at Disney fairy tale princesses and their harshly realistic modern day lifestyles. Seems not everybody lives happily ever after. This project has won several awards, been published internationally in magazines, analyzed by experts in the field of Fairytale literature and studied in High schools and Universities.
